Promoting Classic Porn
Promoting Classic Porn is different than promoting "todays" porn. The most visually significant difference is in the women themselves: they had bush and a lot of it! Things have changed since the 70s and 80s, and if you dont know how to correctly promote classic porn, its going to show in your sales (or lack of).
The pictures of Classic Porn you will promote wont sell themselves, but the writing and the market youre feeding it to will.
Writing for Classic Porn:
Lets start with what classic porn is: Classic Porn is where it all began, in the 70s and continued on into the 80s. If you have ever watched a porn from that era (and lets face it, who hasnt?!), then write about what was so great about the porn back then. Another very useful strategy is to stimulate memories for the surfer. "Watch the first porno youve ever seen!" Okay, maybe thats not the best line because it might make the surfer feel old, but you get the idea. The best catch phrase that Ive ever seen for classic porn was "Watch the porn videos that your parents used to hide from you!" That was a hook, line, and sinker promotional line if Ive ever read one! In one sentence, you can open up the flood gates of memories for a surfer and those forgotten taboo feelings. Taboo, or at least the feeling of, sells any kind porn like hotcakes. So go ahead and get creative, think of some of your own creative catch phrases that will bring back memories, stimulate old taboo feelings of being naughty, and youll be able to get those surfers whipping out their credit cards faster than you can say "Ca-Ching"!
Seeing Stars:
To sell Classic Porn, you have to know a little bit about it. Do your homework and youll see it pay off in your sales. You will need to know who was the biggest porn stars of that era (besides Ron Jeremy), and if you really want to make some good money, then find out who was a star on the rise but never fully developed into a well known porn star. Everyone who watched classic porn back has at least one favorite actor. I can remember trying to find one specific female porn star that I saw in an 80s lesbian video, but I couldnt remember her name. After days of doing my homework and research, I found her name and the same video on VHS being sold online, which of course I then bought. Could you imagine if there were hundreds more that were also in search of that one specific girl?
As previously mentioned, you will need to do your homework on Classic Porn before you sell it. Just like with any other niche on the market, if you know it well, then you will know how to sell it well.
